FAQs
What is TMJ?
While many people often use the term “TMJ” to refer to problems with their jaw joints, the term “TMJ” is actually short for temporomandibular joint and refers to the joint itself. TMJ problems can be called TMD, or temporomandibular disorder. At Aesthetic and General Dentistry, we offer TMJ Therapy for TMD because improper jaw function can cause a multitude of problems throughout your body and make it extremely difficult to enjoy even the simplest everyday activities.
My dentures just don’t seem to fit right. Do you have a solution for me?
How well your dentures fit depends on a number of factors. With facelift dentures, also called neuromuscular dentures, we can help you achieve the best denture fit possible. Because facelift dentures help stabilize your jaw muscles, they instantly create a better fit than traditional dentures.
What causes tooth loss?
While several different factors contribute to tooth loss, gum disease is the most common cause of tooth loss. At Aesthetic and General Dentistry, we want to help you conserve all of your natural teeth if possible, and that’s why we offer periodontal therapy for gum disease treatment along with comprehensive preventive dentistry care.
Do you offer tooth-colored fillings?
Yes! Not only are tooth-colored fillings a more cosmetically pleasing restorative option, but they are better for you, too. Tooth-colored fillings made from composite resin are mercury free. While amalgam fillings contain this highly toxic substance, which can have serious health effects, tooth-colored fillings are an excellent alternative.
